Welcome to what is hopefully the first of many blog posts, where I guide you through what can often be a very daunting task of planning, booking and getting the right photographer for your wedding day.

My name is Brad and I have been a wedding photographer for the past 4 years and have done close to +/- 300 weddings and I am still going strong! I specialise in wedding photography & videography. Theres is no better feeling for me than getting to a wedding and knowing you’re the person who is going to create a memory for a lifetime.

Congratulations you’re engaged!

Now… it’s time to start planning your wedding and putting your special day together. No matter whether you are at the start, middle or end, of your planning process you get to the end by booking your vendors like Photography, Hair, Makeup, Flowers etc. In my experience everyone is unique and different, and some want it done and dusted out the way so they can focus on other things for the wedding, and some want to be a bit more prepared, and others leave it till the last minute. It doesn’t matter where you categorize yourself, booking a photographer is going to be your most important decision.

WHY?

Why Is your photographer the most important? Surely, it must be the food people will enjoy, or the venue or the wedding attire…

Here is what you need to remember. You leave your venue behind, your makeup will wash off, your flowers eventually die, your food gets eaten and forgotten just as quickly. Once your day is over the only memories, you’ll have will be those beautifully captured moments that your photographer took on the day.

So now you get to the point where you are ready to book a photographer. You search Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram whichever your favourite social media platform may be and there are 1000’s of us out there. How do you choose?

What do you need to look for….
– Check their portfolio.
– Does their photo style match your look that you’ve envisioned for your wedding?
– Is their price in my budget?
– Is there content on any of their pages.

There is more points you can look at but those 4 points is what I feel is the most important.

That’s all from me this time around, next time around I’ll take a deeper look into what happens next once you’ve booked your photographer.

In my next Blog I will talk about what to do once you have a list of photographers that you want to contact to possibly book them.

Happy Planning & Good Luck!
